Cam Reddish’s 3-pointer at the buzzer sunk Florida State and lifted the Duke Basketball team to a major road victory.

If you had any doubts about this Duke Basketball team, well today’s game should have taken care of that.

After R.J. Barrett missed the second of two free throws, the Blue Devils got the ball back after Phil Cofer tried to save the ball from going out of bounds and threw the ball off of his own teammate.

The ball went out of bounds and as Teddy Valentine tried to look at every possible angle to give the ball back to Florida State, Duke was awarded the ball.

Both coaches then used all of the timeouts they had left and when play was finally ready to begin again, Tre Jones found Cam Reddish, WIDE OPEN, at the wing and he drilled it to put Duke ahead 80-78.

As for that final play of the game Mike Krzyzewski told the assembled media after the game, “On that play R.J. was a decoy, he draws just so much attention and then Jack [White] sets the screen and Cam comes open and hits it, the shot was just pure.”

The officials put 0.8 seconds back on the clock after Reddish’s 3-pointer, but unfortunately for Florida State, there was no Christian Lattener sighting this afternoon.

For the first 16 minutes or so, the Blue Devils were the far superior team, but a 10-0 run in the final few minutes, coupled with the eye injury to Zion Williamson gave the ‘Noles a 39-38 lead going into halftime.

Williamson finished the first half with 11 points and eight rebounds and did not return to the game, however, he was on the bench and fully engaged in the second half.

The Blue Devils and the Seminoles traded punched in the second half, but after a Reddish foul on P.J. Savoy in the final minute, gave Savoy three free throws, but he could only make two.

R.J. Barrett was a man on a mission today for the Blue Devils as he finished with 32 points, three rebounds, and two steals, while the man of the hour, Cam Reddish, shook off his shooting slump with 23 points, three rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block.

Aside from Barrett, Reddish, and Williamson, no other Blue Devil reached double figures but Tre Jones did have eight points, six assists, five rebounds, and three steals.

Coach K also told the assembled media after the game that Zion had double vision in the second half and that’s why he didn’t come back into the game but he should be ready to play on Monday against Syracuse.

The Seminoles were led by the 24 points from Mfiondu Kabengele and Cofer’s 21 points.

The wins moves the Blue Devils to 3-0 in the ACC and 14-1 on the season while Florida State drops to 13-3 overall and 1-2 in the ACC.

Duke will head back home and face the Syracuse Orange on Monday night at 7:00 pm ET on ESPN.
