More from Ball Durham

The Kansas Jayhawks retained its No. 1 ranking after knocking off then No. 17 Villanova on Saturday afternoon 74-71.

The Jayhawks received 56 first place votes, as the Blue Devils had five first place votes, the No. 3 Tennessee Volunteers had two first place votes, and the No. 4 Michigan Wolverines and No. 5 Virginia Cavaliers both received one first place votes.

Upcoming this week for the Blue Devils is a game against Princeton on Tuesday at Cameron Indoor Stadium who defeated Iona this week and a Top 15 matchup against the No. 12 Texas Tech Red Raiders at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.

The Red Raiders defeated Northwestern State and Abilene Christian this week.

Duke will only have two more games until ACC play starts as after the matchup with Texas Tech on December 20, the Blue Devils will not be back on the floor until January 5 in the ACC opener against the Clemson Tigers.

With two victories this week, the Blue Devils will look to try and retake the No. 1 ranking, but need a Kansas loss as the Jayhawks will host South Dakota on Tuesday and then a major game on Saturday night as they will travel to take on the No. 18 Arizona State Aztecs in Tempe, Arizona.

However, after the week off the Blue Devils will hopefully be refreshed and looking forward to getting back on the court and playing good basketball once again and it all starts on Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm ET as Duke hosts the Princeton Tigers.
