The Duke Football team finally found out its fate in regards to a bowl game as they will be headed to the Independence Bowl.
After a disappointing finish to the regular season, the Duke Blue Devils will have the chance to end the season on a high note as they will be playing in the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl.
The Blue Devils finished with a 7-5 record on the season, but the team started the 4-0 and struggled mightily in ACC play.

The Walk-On’s Independence Bowl will be held on December 27 at 1:30 pm ET and the game will be broadcasted on ESPN from Shreveport, Louisiana from Independence Stadium.
As for the opponent, the Blue Devils will be taking on the Temple Owls out of the AAC, which finished the year 8-4 and second in the AAC East division.
Both programs try and define themselves on gritty, hard-nosed football which should provide for a great matchup late in December between the two teams.
Due to losing four of the last six games, the Blue Devils most likely cost itself a better bowl berth, but it’s time to look forward and put the focus on trying to defeat Temple and end the year on a positive note.
This could be the last game in a Duke uniform for Blue Devils quarterback Daniel Jones as he is eligible to declare for this upcoming NFL Draft and in what is considered a weak quarterback draft class, Jones very well could be a high selection in the draft.
With several weeks to prepare for this game and a fairly even opponent, there is no excuse for the Blue Devils to not show up for this game.
