The Blue Devils rolled over the Hatters, 113 – 49, and it really didn’t even feel that close.
R.J. Barrett led the charge for the Blue Devils with 26 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and four steals. He is the first player in Duke history to have at least 25 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.
Barrett made twelve of his fourteen shot at temps and two of four from three point range.
Cam Reddish found his shooting stroke again as he exploded for 23 points, four rebounds, two steals, and one assist. Reddish made eight of his fifteen shots, and four of nine from beyond the arc.
If possible, Zion Williamson had a quiet 17 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and five steals. Williamson was a bully in the paint against a very undersized Stetson team as he made all of his seven shot attempts from inside of the three point arc and missed his two from beyond the arc.
Marques Bolden added four points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block to the winning cause as Tre Jones was held scoreless as he just attempted one shot from three point range but he still had seven assists, two rebounds, and three steals.
Duke also had three bench players who reached double figures in this game, Alex O’Connell, Javin DeLaurier, and Justin Robinson.
O’Connell and Robinson both contributed 13 points, while Robinson was much more efficient. Robinson was perfect from the floor, making all five of his shot attempts, three from beyond the arc, and one highlight reel dunk at the end of the game.
DeLaurier added 10 points and five rebounds.
The win moves the Blue Devils to 7-1 on the season and they will face Hartford University on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm ET from Cameron Indoor Stadium. The game can be seen on ESPN2.
