It’ll be two complete opposites on the floor in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday night as the Duke Basketball team hosts Stetson.

This will be very blunt, but very true.

Stetson University is bad at basketball.

More from Ball Durham

It’s not the nicest thing to say, but it is true as they will come into Cameron Indoor Stadium at 1-7 on the season to face the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils on Saturday night.

The one victory that Stetson has on the season came in the first game of the year against Johnson University in Florida, which is a Division II school.

The Hatters won that game 116 – 66, but have lost seven straight to the likes of Missouri State, USC, Southeast Louisiana, Robert Morris, VMI, Bethune Cookman, and South Florida.

Stetson has two players that average over 10 points per game as they are led by Christiaan Jones who averages 12.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game along with Abayomi Iyiola who averages 12.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.

Despite not performing well this season, this might be the best experience that the Stetson players will ever experience while playing basketball.

They get to play against a handful of players that will be stars in the NBA, they will play on national television for quite possibly the first and only time in their life, they will get to shake the hand of the greatest college basketball coach of all time, and they get to play in one of the most famous gyms in the country in front of the best fans in the world.

While surely this game will be a blowout from tipoff, these Hatters will get to experience something that they will tell their grandkids about and it will be something they will never forget despite what the final score is.
