Duke Basketball: Undefeated Eastern Michigan rolls into Cameron

The Duke Basketball team will take on an Eastern Michigan team who is undefeated and looking to try and keep that momentum into Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles are coming into Cameron Indoor Stadium undefeated, winning its first three games on the very young season.

The Eagles rode a ten point victory over Rochester on opening night, followed by a four point win over Drexel, and then a twenty three point win over Goshen on Sunday.

Eastern Michigan is led by Paul Jackson who is averaging 18.7 points per game, 3.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists, while shooting 50.0% from the field.

Boubacar Toure is also a major part of the Eagles offense has he averages 13.0 points per game, along with 11.0 rebounds, and a 66.7% shooting percentage.

However, it was Elijah Minnie who led Eastern Michigan in scoring in their win over Goshen with 17 points. Minnie did not play opening night against Rochester and only scored one point against Drexel after missing all of his five shots from the floor.

Jackson, Toure, Minnie were all starters for Eastern Michigan in the win on Sunday along with James Thompson IV and Damari Parris.

Eastern Michigan doesn’t have the talent to matchup with the Blue Devils, but they do have the size.

Thompson IV is listed at six feet, ten inches and 241 pounds while Toure is six feet, eleven inches and also 241 pounds. Minnie is also a big forward at six feet, nine inches and 212 pounds.

Eastern Michigan Head Coach Rob Murphy doesn’t truly play a deep bench as in the win over Drexel he played ten players, but only eight received double digit minutes.

Jalen King played four minute against Drexel and Isaiah Green played three minutes.
