As the Duke Basketball player preview continues, we focus our spotlighting junior Justin Robinson and what role he might play in the Blue Devils season.

Being the son of The Admiral isn’t easy, but Justin Robinson is coming into his own at Duke.

Robinson is entering his third season at Duke and he is hoping that he will have much more of an impact in this season than he did in his first two.

More from Ball Durham

As a freshman, Robinson only averaged 1.7 minutes per game and 0.2 points per game, but as the forward grew in size and experience, he got a little more put on his plate as a sophomore.

Last season, Robinson averaged 4.8 minutes per game and bumped his scoring average to 1.4 points per game.

Since Robinson came to Duke, his teammates have raved about how good of a person and teammate he is and Robinson is the exact type of player and person that embodies the Duke Basketball program.

However, Robinson is looking to make his mark on the court this season and lead a very young Blue Devil team to fulfill the goals that the team has set for the season.

While the Blue Devils certainly have depth with their big men, none are necessarily proven players and there should be an open competition for who will receive minutes this year.

As Justin Robinson will look to make an impact on the court for the Blue Devils this season, he will get the chance on November 7 as the Duke Blue Devils open the season in the State Farm Champions Classic against the Kentucky Wildcats from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana at approximately 9:30 pm ET.
