Duke in the MLB: Marcus Stroman ready to respond after tough season
While it was a very successful season for Duke Baseball, this Duke in the MLB star struggled throughout the season battling injuries.
Marcus Stroman has always been about moving forward and that is what he will plan to do this offseason after a shaky and injury riddled 2018 season.
Stroman constantly battled injuries throughout the season but he always wanted to take the mound and help his team win every fifth day.

The former Blue Devil finished his campaign with a 4-9 record, 5.54 ERA, and 77 strikeouts on the season.
The Blue Jays finished the year 73-89 and 35 games out of first place in the AL East behind the Boston Red Sox who currently hold a 1-0 series lead in the World Series over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
As for Stroman, this was his worst season in terms of ERA and his most losses in a season since 2016 when he finished 9-10 in 32 starts as compared to only 19 starts this season.
The rare poor season from Stroman dropped his career numbers to a 41-34 record with a 3.91 ERA.
As the Toronto Blue Jays look to get back into the playoff conversation next season, Stroman will play a major role in that as the Jays traded away J.A. Happ to the New York Yankees and Stroman will have to assume the role of being the ace of the Blue Jays pitching staff.
The Blue Jays have the former Duke Baseball star under contract until the 2021 season.
If fans follow Stroman on any forms of social media they are aware that he will continue to work and he is itching to get back out on a big league mound to prove that his poor performances last season were due to injuries.
Fans can start the countdown to when Marcus Stroman is back on the mound because the Blue Jays first Spring Training game is on February 23 and the regular season opener is on March 28 and both games are against the Detroit Tigers.
