There was a confrontation in the NBA last weekend regarding a former Duke Basketball player and he has received his suspension.

Brandon Ingram has received his punishment for his involvement in Saturday’s brawl between the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets.

Ingram has been suspended for four games, the most of any player involved.

Lakers guard Rajon Rondo was suspended for three games and Rockets guard Chris Paul is suspended for two games, with one of his games already served on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The altercation began with an Ingram foul on Rockets star James Harden and expressed his displeasure with the foul call and with Harden. As Ingram pulled aside by teammates, Rondo and Paul got into it with Rondo spitting on Paul and then Paul throwing a punch at Rondo.

Rondo responded with some punches of his own and then Ingram ran in and threw some more punches, leading him to have the longest suspension of the three players. All three players were ejected from the game on Saturday night.

Ingram is in his third season with the Lakers and he is coming off of his best season as he averaged 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.

In his two games this season, Ingram’s best game came in the season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers where he scored 16 points in 28 minutes on seven-of-fifteen shooting.

Ingram will be eligible to return to the Lakers on Sunday, October 28 ahead of the Lakers game in Minnesota on Monday night against the Timberwolves.

The four games that Ingram will miss are tonight against the Spurs, Wednesday night in Phoenix against the Suns, Thursday night against the Nuggets, and Saturday night when the Lakers visit the Spurs in San Antonio.

Once Ingram returns to the lineup, he will look to play a major role on this Lakers team as they hope to make the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
