Cameron Indoor Stadium was set ablaze for the first time this season as Duke Basketball had their Countdown to Craziness event on Friday.

It was possibly the most anticipated Countdown to Craziness in the history of the event and it certainly lived up to the hype.

As each player was introduced, perhaps the best intro was Mike Buckmire who came out to the song “It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones, made famous by the 90’s television sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Character Carlton Banks, played by Alfonso Ribeiro, performed a unique dance to the tune of this song that has remained popular to this day and has been named, “The Carlton”.

Buckmire walked out to center court and started to perform the dance and called out Duke Special Assistant Nolan Smith to join him.

As for the scrimmage, the Duke Basketball roster was split into two teams, the Blue Team and the White Team.

The Blue Team consisted of R.J. Barrett, Cam Reddish, Marques Bolden, Jordan Goldwire, Jack White, Justin Robinson, and Buckmire, while the White Team had Zion Williamson, Tre Jones, Javin DeLaurier, Alex O’Connell, Antonio Vrankovic, Joey Baker, and Brennan Besser.

The White Team defeated the Blue Team, 44-39 but the stars of the night were Barrett and Williamson.

Barrett was able to score 23 points as he played the entire 20 minute half. The Canada native was also able to pull down two rebounds and dish out two assists. Cam Reddish was also able to add 13 points for the Blue Team while the only other three points came from Bolden.

Williamson, who was awarded the Iron Devil Award prior to the scrimmage, was able to lead the White Team with 14 points and five rebounds as he also played for the entire half.  Along with Zion, the White Team was led by Tre Jones who had eight points and Javin DeLaurier who finished with ten points, while Joey Baker made both of his attempts from beyond the arc.

The Duke Blue Devils are back in action on Tuesday, October 23 as they host Virginia Union in an exhibition game at 7:00 pm ET and then another exhibition game against Ferris State on Saturday, October 27 at 4:00 pm ET.

The regular season kicks off on November 6 in the Champions Classic against the Kentucky Wildcats at 9:30 pm ET in Indianapolis, Indiana.
