The former Duke Basketball National Champion isn’t going anywhere any time soon as Justise Winslow has agreed to a contract extension with the Miami Heat.

The No. 10 Overall Pick of the 2015 NBA Draft will be staying with the same team that drafted him for at least four more years.

Justise Winslow and the Miami Heat have agreed to a three year contract extension worth up to $39 million according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Winslow is entering his fourth season with the Miami Heat after coming back to be a productive player last season, as he missed the majority of 2016-17 with a wrist injury.

The third and final year of Winslow’s contract extension is a team option, per Woj.

Coming out of Duke, Winslow was known for his energy, athleticism, and defensive prowess however, in his rookie season of 2015-16, Winslow averaged 6.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 78 games while averaging 28.8 minutes per game.

While only playing in 18 games in his injury plagued 2016-17 season, Winslow bounced back by seeing the floor in 68 games in 2017-18, averaging 24.7 minutes per game as well as 7.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.

Winslow also shot a career best 42.4% from the floor and 38.0% from three point range.

The Heat and Justise Winslow had a deadline on Monday to complete the extension or Winslow could have become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 at the end of the season.

Winslow was selected to the NBA All-Rookie Team in 2016, but in Duke’s National Championship season in 2015, Winslow averaged 12.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while shooting 48.6% from the floor and 41.8% from deep.

The Miami Heat will look to make the playoffs for the second consecutive season this year as the Heat have made the playoffs each of the two seasons that Winslow has been available for the entirety of the year.
