Duke Football: Getting a closer look at the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
It’s time for another week of Duke Football and they will travel down to Atlanta to face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets high powered offense.
Georgia Tech hasn’t been an easy team to figure out this season.
The Yellow Jackets started off their season with a blow out win over Alcorn State, but then three straight losses on the road against USF and Pittsburgh, followed by a loss to home to Clemson.
Since the 49-21 loss to Clemson, Georgia Tech has followed that game up by putting up 60+ points in back to back games over Bowling Green and Louisville.

Perhaps the most surprising result was last weekend on the road against Louisville as the Yellow Jackets rolled putting up over 500 yards on the ground.
However, as Georgia Tech gets set to run their triple option against Duke on Saturday, it all starts and stops with quarterback TaQuon Marshall.
Marshall has only completed 31 of his 65 pass attempts through six games for 544 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions, but on the ground, Marshall has kept the ball 111 times, gaining 557 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Yellow Jackets ground game doesn’t stop there, Jordan Mason has been given the rock 58 times this season as he has turned that into 443 yards, finding the end zone four times.
Along side of Mason, Georgia Tech has four other running backs with over 100 yards on the ground and one running back on the cusp of 100 yards.
Qua Searcy, Jerry Howard, Nathan Cottrell, and KirVonte Benson are all over the century mark on the season and they all have found pay dirt at least once this season with all of the players reaching the end zone twice expect for Benson who only has one touchdown.
One more thing to watch for Georgia Tech is back up quarterback Tobias Oliver who has completed two out of his three passes for 28 yards and a touchdown, but he has rushed 54 times for 421 yards and seven touchdowns.
Although the Yellow Jackets are not known for their wide receivers this season, Clinton Lynch leads the way with 209 yards on seven receptions and two touchdowns while Jalen Camp has reeled in six passes for 119 yards.
The Duke Blue Devils will have their hands full on Saturday afternoon with a potent Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the defense will have to be prepared to stop the explosive running game.
