The ACC Coastal Division has a bit of a different look than the Atlantic Division, but you can be guaranteed of many changes, but here we go with the up to date standings.

1. Miami Hurricanes – (5-1, 2-0)

It’s been an odd start to the season for the Miami Hurricanes.

A blowout loss on a national stage to LSU, followed by a quarterback controversy and then a huge comeback against bitter rival Florida State.

The ‘Canes do not have an opponent on the remainder of their schedule that will scare them, but that could be a good thing which would leave the possibility for a let down.

The Miami Hurricanes will travel to Virginia this Saturday to take on the Cavilers at 7:00 pm ET.

2. Virginia Tech Hokies – (3-2, 2-0)

Talk about one of the most confusing teams in the entire ACC, the Virginia Tech Hokies.

A major win on the road against Florida State to start the season, followed by the possible upset of the season losing to Old Dominion where they lost their starting quarterback, then they travel to Durham and take down the Blue Devils handily, before getting clobbered at home against Notre Dame.

Luckily for the Hokies, they have shown up emphatically in their two ACC games, but going forward, can you really trust Virginia Tech?

I’m not sure, that’s for you to decide, but I wouldn’t.

The Virginia Tech Hokies will try and get back on track this week against the North Carolina Tar Heels.

3. Pittsburgh Panthers – (3-3, 2-1)

Like many teams in the ACC Coastal Division, do we really know who the Pitt Panthers are?

Are they the team that lost 51-6 at home to Penn State in the pouring rain, or the team that lost on the road to North Carolina 38-35, or the team that beat Syracuse 44-37 in overtime.

It’s hard to get a right read on the Panthers but after this weeks game on the road against Notre Dame where they should get beat handily, the Panthers will face ACC teams from there on out.

We should get a read on who the Panthers truly are starting next week.

4. Virginia Cavilers – (3-2, 1-1)

Much hasn’t been expected of the Virginia Cavilers this season and they have performed about how you would expect.

However, the Cavs have the chance to throw a major wrench into the Costal Division as they host No. 15 Miami this Saturday night?

If Virginia can win this game, things will get very, very interesting for the remainder of the season in the ACC.

5. North Carolina Tar Heels – (1-3, 1-1)

You know, having conference standings go by conference record and not overall record can be pretty deceiving.

The Tar Heels are clearly the worst team in the ACC Coastal Division but after beating Pitt in Week 4, they have found the middle of the pack in the division.

However, don’t be fooled by the Tar Heels, they will be in the basement of the Coastal Division by the end of the season as they are just not a good football team along with their difficult schedule to close out the season.

The Heels host Virginia Tech this Saturday.

6. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets – (3-3, 1-2)

Oh look, yet another team that has yet to create an identity in the ACC Coastal Division.

Georgia Tech lost to Pitt, who lost to North Carolina, but the Yellow Jackets found a way to demolish Louisville on the road.

Not to mention, Georgia Tech also lost to USF this season.

Georgia Tech will try and get their first winning streak of the season against the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday afternoon.

7. Duke Blue Devils – (4-1, 0-1)

Sometimes you just draw the short end of the stick and that is what happened to the Blue Devils.

Duke started off the season 4-0 despite losing their starting quarterback in the middle of their Week 2 win over Northwestern.

The game Daniel Jones returns, the Blue Devils throw up a stinker at home against Virginia Tech.

After being able to sit with a bad taste in their mouthes for a week, the Blue Devils will travel down to Athens looking for their first ACC win on the season to take on Georgia Tech on Saturday.
