NC Central lost in the season opener at home to Prairie View 40-24, but responded in the following week against St. Augustine, getting their first win on the season by a score of 51-14.

The Eagles come into this game led by quarterback Chauncey Caldwell who has completed 56.6% of his passes this season (30-53) for four touchdowns and one interception, Caldwell also has rushed 21 times for 105 yards.

Fellow quarterback Naiil Ramadan has also seen action this year and he has completed 53.5% of his passes (15-28) for 169 yards and three touchdowns.

While Caldwell could very well be getting the start on Saturday against the dominant Duke defense, both QB’s could see action in this game.

North Carolina Central is led on the ground by running back Isaiah Totten who has taken the ball 21 times and rushed for 101 yards in two games, but has yet to find the pay dirt.

The Eagles have a balanced receiving corps with five players over 50 yards receiving, led by Xavier McKoy who has hauled in seven passes for 93 yards this season, while Sherman McLeod is the teams leading touchdown receiver with two, to go along with his four receptions for 59 yards.

On the other side of the ball for the Eagles, the defense is led by Davanta Reynolds who has accumulated 16 tackles on the year along with Darius Royster and Branden Bailey who both have 15 tackles.

The Blue Devils are the far superior team in both coaching and talent on the field and it will be up to them to prove that early and often during Saturday’s game.
