The ACC Players of the Week were announced Monday, and for the second consecutive time, two Duke football players made the list.

As the Duke football program continues to win — six straight dating back to last season — the accolades keep pouring in.

The latest recipients are junior safety Dylan Singleton and redshirt sophomore center Jack Wohlabaugh, who were two of the nine players the ACC awarded with its weekly honors.

Singleton, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Dacula, Ga., garnered the award for the league’s best defensive back of the week after recording seven tackles, breaking up a pass, causing one fumble, and recovering the fumble in the first quarter that led to Duke’s first score during its 40-27 victory at Baylor on Saturday.

More from Ball Durham

Wohlabaugh earned recognition as the top offensive lineman in the league this week, and he did so in his first career start. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound native of Akron, Ohio, who was filling in for the injured Zach Harmon, had the best grade of any Blue Devil lineman against the Bears. He and fellow reserve-turned-starter, quarterback Quentin Harris, joined forces to help the offense play mistake-free football, never once committing a penalty or turning the ball over.

The Duke football team next faces N.C. Central at home on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra. As of right now, Duke is a 46-point favorite over the Eagles, marking the largest point spread of any game the Blue Devils have ever been a part of.

If the Blue Devils win that game, coach David Cutcliffe will become just the third head coach in the program’s history to twice win seven games in a row. The other two, Bill Murray and Wallace Wade, accomplished the feat more than 50 years ago.

Wins, awards, and records are indicators of a successful season just getting started in Durham.
