On Friday night Duke Football hosts the Army Black Knights in the first game of the 2018 season at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Year three of the Daniel Jones era will kick off on Friday night for the Duke Blue Devils and Jones leads Duke Football into battle against the Army West Point Black Knights.

Coming in as one of the underrated games of opening weekends as both Duke and Army are coming off winning seasons, culminating in bowl victories.

The Blue Devils will look for revenge as the Black Knights defeated Duke in New York late in the regular season last year 21-16.

Jones was rather pedestrian in that game, completing 19 of his 29 passes for 164 yards, no passing touchdowns and an interception, while he rushed 19 times for 22 yards and a touchdown.

However, Jones and the rest of the Blue Devils enter 2018 with a high expectations and a positive outlook on the season.

The Army Black Knights are a team that underwent a lot of change this offseason, mainly due to the graduation of many cadets.

As both teams look to start the 2018 season on a positive note, Duke must find a way to control the tempo of the game, which is tough to do because of the Army triple option offense.

The Duke defense, led by Pre-Season All-American Joe Giles-Harris, will need to be on their toes while remaining patient against the free wheeling and constantly moving Army offense.

On paper, the Blue Devils seem to have the more talented roster, but they need to prove that on the field at Wallace Wade Stadium on Friday night.

In what should be a low scoring, ugly game the game might come down to the Duke defense and their ability to stop the triple option of Army led by quarterback Kevin Hopkins Jr.

Prediction: Duke 20, Army 16
