The Las Vegas Summer League is winding down, but Wendell Carter Jr. was going to prove even more that he is a dominant force on the inside.

People don’t seem to realize that Wendell Carter Jr. is a dominant big man.

Playing with Marvin Bagley III at Duke, Carter Jr. seemed to be the forgotten man, but he is proving his worth with the Chicago Bulls Summer League team at the Las Vegas Summer League.

In Carter Jr.’s latest outing he scored 23 points in 27 minutes, but the Bulls lost to the Atlanta Hawks Summer League team 101-93.

The 23 points tied a team high with Chandler Hutchinson who also dropped 23 in the loss.

Carter Jr. was scorching hot this evening as he made nine of his thirteen shot attempts, drilling his lone three-point shot and making all four of his free throw attempts.

Throughout the Las Vegas Summer League, Carter Jr. has shown the ability to play a major role not only on offense but in all other facets of the game. Against the Hawks, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft pulled down six rebounds, dished out two assists, and swatted two shots.

Hawks big man and Wake Forest product John Collins did not play in the game as the Hawks front office believed they had seen enough from the big man entering his second year, as Collins dominated his opponents in his two games in Vegas.

The Bulls ended the Las Vegas Summer League with a 1-2 record and will wait until Tuesday night to see who they will be playing next in the tournament phase of the two-week long event.

Wendell Carter Jr. has proved to be a force in the Las Vegas Summer League for the Chicago Bulls and pairing him with Lauri Markkanen will make a dominant duo inside the paint and on the perimeter as the two big men have proved they can hit outside shots.
