The energizer bunny of the Duke Basketball bench is going to set out for the journey of a lifetime this summer, trying to create awareness for a cause that he holds very close to his heart.

Brennan Besser is known for his celebrations and energy on the Duke bench. He is also charming and very funny when on camera for the Duke social media pages, but he is going to take his talents away from the basketball court this summer.

Brennan Besser and his sister, Rachel, will be biking, running, and walking from Seattle to New York starting on May 16.

The Besser’s are doing this for Walk On! America, which raises awareness for those with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

Besser’s sister, Jacqueline, 23, has special needs and she is the driving force behind this campaign from Brennan and Rachel.

Jacquline Besser is one of Brennan’s best friends and he says that she is one of the main reasons why he is the man that he is today.

Besser noted that this is not only a national issue but a global issue and that he wants to help create awareness for an issue that affects so many families around the world.

Besser went onto thank his family and friends, but also Coach K and the rest of the Duke Basketball family for their support behind his efforts.

Brennan and Rachel hope to finish their journey in New York on July 18, but before that, the two will stop in their hometown of Chicago around June 23 to regroup and charge their batteries.

The Besser’s hope to stop in about 50 cities throughout their journey.

To both Brennan and Rachel Besser, we are behind you cannot wait to watch the both of you conquer this challenge!
