Duke Basketball: Blue Devils Reach Out to Grad Transfer
Duke has been at the top of the college basketball world in terms of recruiting, but Mike Krzyzewski is stepping into a new recruiting territory.
Regardless whether or not Wendell Carter Jr. and Gary Trent Jr. return to Durham next season, Duke will still have a very young roster.
There will be two seniors, Antonio Vrankovic and Brennan Besser. Vrankovic not seeing steady minutes at all in his first three seasons and Besser being a walk-on.
The juniors would be Marques Bolden, Javin DeLaurier, Jack White, and Justin Robinson.

That’s it for the upper-classmen. Bolden and DeLaurier the only ones receiving somewhat of steady minutes, but nothing to ride home about.
To look for some steady senior leadership, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman and CBS Sports Jon Rothstein have reported that Duke has reached out to Albany’s Graduate Transfer Joe Cremo.
The 6’4″, 185-pound guard would be immediately eligible and put up big numbers for the Great Danes of Albany last season.
Cremo averaged 17.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
Albany played three games against NCAA Tournament teams this season and one against an ACC opponent.
The two tournament teams Albany played were Iona, and UMBC, twice.
Iona was the season opener for the Great Danes and Cremo scored 10 points.
In an 83-39 thumping of UMBC, Cremo only scored 8 points, but in a 68-60 loss, he scored 25 points.
In the one matchup Albany had with an ACC foe, they fell to Louisville 70-68. Cremo was the leading scorer for the Great Danes with 18 points.
Cremo’s season-high came against Holy Cross where he exploded for 30 points in a 78-62 Albany victory.
In his three seasons at Albany, Cremo averaged double figures in each season, improving his shooting percentage this season to 45.8%, both from the field and from three.
The Blue Devils could use Cremo’s scoring ability along with his leadership and experience as they embark again on another season filled with a roster comprised of star freshman.
