Duke University Named Best College for Food in the U.S.

Duke University along with Durham, NC earned the top spot in a recent ranking of the 80 best colleges for food in America this year.

The Daily Meal recently released their list of the 80 best colleges for food in the country for 2016, and Duke University earned the top spot in this year’s rankings.

The rankings were based on accessibility and service, education and events, the surrounding area, and the “X” factor based on creativity and the ability to “go above and beyond”. Over 2,000 colleges were narrowed down to 80 finalists, and the Blue Devils were ranked as the #1 school based on their wide variety of on-campus options and local restaurants in the area.

In addition to renovations to the athletic venues, Duke University has also been upgrading several areas around the campus including several eating facilities like the new Penn Pavilion with several different dining options and upgrades to the West Union building. Duke has a total of 59 dining options and 35 on-campus eateries for students to choose from including local restaurants that deliver to campus on the meal plan.
