The 9th player from the class of 2015 has signed with an NFL team, with former running back Josh Snead agreeing to join the Denver Broncos as a rookie free agent.

Josh Snead was a three-time Academic All-ACC selection and has rushed for a career 1,769 yards with 5.33 yards per carry. Snead was a large part of the Blue Devil offense and also a factor on special teams for the Blue Devils, amassing over 2,434 career all-purpose rushing, receiving, and kick-off return yards. He will join former Duke RB Juwan Thompson and DE Kenny Anunike, who were both undrafted free agents in 2014 and made the team last year.
Snead will be the 9th Blue Devils to sign a contract with a team this year, joining Laken Tomlinson (#28 – Detroit Lions), Jamison Crowder (#105 – Washington Redskins), Issac Blakeney (UFA – San Francisco 49ers), Anthony Boone (UFA – Detroit Lions), Takoby Cofield (UFA – Washington Redskins), Jordan DeWalt-Ondijo (UFA – Philadelphia Eagles), David Helton (UFA – New York Jets), and Dezmond Johnson (UFA – Cincinnati Bengals).
This year alone Duke has added more than twice as many players to NFL rosters with only 8 total players on an NFL team last season. The Class of 2015 will make 17 total former Duke players currently signed with pro teams, and 10 that will be guaranteed roster spots for the upcoming NFL season.
This year was the first year since 2004 that Duke has had multiple players drafted and guard Laken Tomlinson will be the highest Blue Devils drafted since 1987. All of the current Blue Devils currently signed to rosters in the NFL were coached by Duke Football head coach David Cutcliffe.
