Although the 247Sports Crystal Ball is rarely wrong this late in a high-profile race, history says it’s no sure thing either.
That said, all eight experts who have entered picks at the site now see Dariq Whitehead winding up in Durham. Three of those picks come with a “high” confidence level. And all eight popped up since July 1, when the New Jersey native announced his decision date, which, by the way, happens to coincide with his 17th birthday.
Also, over at the Rivals FutureCast, all four submitted predictions point to Whitehead publicly saying “yes” to Jon Scheyer and his gang when his Sunday announcement arrives (he has yet to give an official time).
Additionally, Whitehead is an admitted Duke basketball fan whose first official visit was to Blue Devil Land in early June.
