The 13-year playoff streak of Duke basketball legend JJ Redick might be coming to an end here in his 14th NBA season, but the trigger of the textbook sniper still shows no signs of cooling off. As a sharpshooting specialist and locker room leader who typically comes off the bench, the Virginia native is simply Mr. Consistency. In five appearances since the restart, he’s drained between two and five trifectas while scoring 11 or more points each time.
As noted before for teammate Brandon Ingram, the 36-year-old Redick and the 30-39 New Orleans Pelicans, No. 11 in the Western Conference standings, are 2-3 since the restart and have three games remaining in their regular season: against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday at 3 p.m. (ABC), against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday at 9 p.m. (TNT), and against the Orlando Magic on Thursday (TV and tipoff time to be announced).
