With a count too high for a converse response, a recently released ranking montage captures Duke basketball's decade of dominance over UNC.
Intentional or not, the Duke basketball creative team came up with a clever way to fire a shot at UNC this week. Sure, part of the shot was a replay of The Shot in 2012 by Austin Rivers that silenced Dean Dome patrons.

But by choosing to post a YouTube video with a ranking of exactly the 10 best of the Blue Devils' 15 wins over the Tar Heels from the past decade — below — the sly minds in Durham ensured their Chapel Hill foes would come up one shy if they were to attempt such a list of their own.
Yes, 15-9 was Duke's record over UNC from 2010 through 2019. Yes, 2-1 was Duke's advantage over UNC in national championships across the same span. Yes, 4-1 was Duke's edge in ACC Tournament titles. Yes, 2-2 was how the rivals stacked up in terms of final fours.
Yes, despite all of these counts — not to mention overall wins from the decade, a 298-273 Duke advantage — fact-challenged UNC fans continue to baffle and entertain their Duke counterparts by daring to point out any of the Blue Devils' shortcomings in recent years. Since numbers evidently don't mean much inside Tar Heel noggins, it's time to move on and delight in the memories:
Here's a recap of the 10 wins the program picked (the only complaint here is the one from the hands of Zion Williamson last season should have been No. 3 instead of No. 5):
- Feb. 8, 2012 (Chapel Hill): Duke 85, UNC 84
- Feb. 18, 2015 (Durham): Duke 92, UNC 90
- Feb. 9, 2011 (Durham): Duke 79, UNC 73
- Feb. 17, 2016 (Chapel Hill): Duke 74, UNC 73
- March 15, 2019 (Charlotte): Duke 74, UNC 73
- March 13, 2011 (Greensboro): Duke 75, UNC 58
- March 10, 2017 (Brooklyn): Duke 93, UNC 83
- March 3, 2018 (Durham): Duke 74, UNC 64
- March 6, 2010 (Chapel Hill): Duke 82, UNC 50
- March 9, 2013 (Chapel Hill): Duke 69, UNC 53
Now, while Ball Durham encourages Duke basketball fans to enjoy the above video at least 10 times, here's a recap of the rivalry's 2010s in two words: DUKE WON.
