Duke in the NBA: Trevon Duval Signs Two-Way Contract with Bucks
After a rocky season as the point guard of the Duke Basketball team, Trevon Duval has earned an NBA contract with the Milwaukee Bucks for the upcoming season.
After going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft, but proving his worth in the NBA Summer League with the Houston Rockets, former Duke guard Trevon Duval has signed a two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks for the 2018-19 season.
In his one season at Duke, Duval averaged 10.3 points, 5.6 assists, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 42.8% from the floor and a tough 29.0% from three-point range.

Despite not being selected in the draft, Duval signed a Summer League contract with the Houston Rockets and he shined in his first ever professional basketball game. Duval scored a game-high 20 points for the Rockets Summer League team, showing that he has the potential to be a very good guard in the NBA.
Duval finished the Las Vegas Summer League averaging 9.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. The 6-foot, 3-inch guard from IMG Academy showed that he has the ability to play both on and off the ball and is most effective when attacking the basket.
Duval’s shooting woes improved a tremendous amount from three-point territory as he finished the summer draining 33.3% of his attempts beyond the arc, however, Duval only shot 36.1% from the field.
The Duke one and done put up these stats while coming off the bench for the entirety of the Las Vegas Summer League and only averaging 17 minutes per game.
The two-way contract ensures that Duval will get some time in the NBA this season, while also developing his game in the NBA G-League.
Duval has all the tools to be a very good player in the NBA, but his game needs some work and time to develop and the G-League will be perfect for him. The inspiration Duval needs is from Quinn Cook who also went undrafted and then thrived in the G-League before signing with the Golden State Warriors and excelled in place of the injured Stephen Curry.
Next year will be crucial to the development of Duval and to get a glimpse at the potential he can provide an NBA team at the guard position.
