Despite being booed by the UNC faithful during pre-game introductions at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, Sulaimon was able to give Blue Devil fans a glimpse of his potential as a combo guard.

The two best prospects in the Class of 2016 will be announcing their intended college destinations Wednesday night at 7:30 PM ET during a live telecast on ESPNU, ESPN3, and WatchESPN.com. Nerlens Noel (Everett, MA, The Tilton School) and Shabazz Muhammad (Las Vegas, NV, Bishop Gorman High School), the best and second-best players in the Class of 2016 respectively have each narrowed their choices down to three finalists. Noel will be choosing between Kentucky, Georgetown, and Syracuse, and has been hailed as the next premier shot-blocker, a la Anthony Davis, and the trendy choice for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. Muhammad has narrowed his choices down to Duke, Kentucky, and UCLA, and has star-potential from day one. If Duke were to secure the services of Muhammad, they would immediately have one of the best recruiting classes in the country and would have the pieces to make a deep run into the NCAA Tournament.

Duke Junior forward Mason Plumlee has elected to return to school for his senior season. After speculation that Plumlee was considering leaving school early to pursue a career in the NBA, he put an end to all questions by posting to his Twitter page today (@masonplumlee), “I’m excited about the chance to play for Duke one more season. Thanks for all the support, I’m blessed to be here!” Plumlee was an integral part of Duke’s success throughout the year, averaging 10.9 PPG, 9.1 RPG, and 1.6 BPG en route to third-team All-ACC honors. In addition to his season averages, Plumlee also finished tied for third in the ACC in rebounding, and also finished third in double-doubles with 12 and double-figure rebounding games with 16.

Following the departure of Austin Rivers to the NBA and the graduation of senior Miles Plumlee, the Blue Devils have two considerable holes to fill in their rotation. Duke will be a fairly experienced team next year, with five seniors, two juniors, and four sophomores. All five seniors were freshmen on the last Duke team to win the NCAA Tournament, and both juniors played on the squad with Kyrie Irving, Nolan Smith, and Kyle Singler that lost in the Sweet Sixteen to the Derrick Williams-led Arizona Wildcats.

Following a stellar freshman season which saw Rivers average 15.5 PPG, 3.4 RPG, and 2.1 APG, he decided to make himself eligible for the draft on March 26. Rivers had arguably the best freshman year in Blue Devil history, unanimously winning ACC Freshman Player of the Year (only the second player to do so), garnering first teal All-ACC honors, setting the freshmen scoring record at the Dean Dome with 29 points in the 85-84 thriller victory, and becoming just the third Duke freshman and the first since Johnny Dawkins to lead the team in scoring.
