The 2014 football season may be just around the corner, but that’s not stopping the future of Blue Devil pigskin from getting things squared away. Both defensive end Marquies Price and offensive tackle Reno Rosene have signed their scholarship agreements so that they can enroll at Duke University in January.
Their enrollment is contingent upon Price and Rosene finishing up their high school careers and receiving their degrees before they can set foot on campus.
Price is coming to Durham via Fort Valley, Ga. out of Peach County High School. Last season, he totaled 49 tackles and forced three fumbles on Peach County’s road to the state playoffs. On ESPN.com, Price is rated as the 62nd best Defensive End and the 74th best player of the state of Georgia in the 2015 recruiting class. He officially committed to Duke back on June 8 and had offers from Charlotte, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, N.C. State, Purdue, South Florida, Central Florida, Virginia, Western Kentucky and Wisconsin.
Rosene is Durham bound by way of Westlake Village, Calif. out of Oaks Christian High School. Last season he was one of the main men on the offensive line that helped his offense average 445 yards and 43.8 points per game. He is expected to retain his starting position this season. Rosene is the 48th best offensive tackle and the 44th best player to come out of the state of California in the 2015 recruiting class. He committed to Duke just three days before Price, on June 5. He declined scholarship offers from Arizona State, Notre Dame, San Diego State and Washington State.
