Duke basketball sets 2014-2015 roster

Myles Turner has made his decision… and it’s not Duke. He’s headed to Texas to play for Rick Barnes. That means that the 2014-2015 roster has been basically finalized. That meaning there is a potential for two more players to be given scholarships as Blue Devils. Duke has four freshmen coming in on scholarship, making up the best recruiting class in the nation for the 2014-2015 season. All four of them were McDonald’s All-Americans.

There are 11 scholarship players on the roster. Five of those players are guards, three are forwards, two are centers and one is a transfer who will be eligible for the 2015-2016 season.

The five guards are freshman Tyus Jones, senior Quinn Cook, freshman Grayson Allen, junior Rasheed Sulaimon and sophomore Matt Jones.

The three forwards are freshman Justise Winslow, sophomore Semi Ojeleye and junior Amile Jefferson. Sophomore Sean Obi is a forward, but he will not be eligible to play during the 2014-2015 season.

The two centers are freshman Jahlil Okafor and redshirt-junior Marshall Plumlee.

Laura Keeley at predicts that Jones, Sulaimon, Winslow, Jefferson and Okafor will be the lineup combination.

Depending on the situation, it’s not hard to see Cook or Allen coming off of the bench for substantial playing time.

Much can happen in the next four months before preseason practices start. Only time will tell how well the upcoming season will go.
