Duke lacrosse continues to climb the rankings

Ranked first nationally, the Duke lacrosse team is making their mark. The Blue Devils have a record of 10-2, losing to fourth ranked Maryland and third ranked Loyola earlier in the season. Duke has played against seven ranked teams over the course of the season (Denver, Penn, Maryland, Loyola, North Carolina, Syracuse and Notre Dame).

Duke beat seventh ranked Notre Dame on April 5th, outscoring the Irish 15-7. Following that game, the Blue Devils jumped from being ranked third in the country to first. Also following the game, senior attackman Jordan Wolf and sophomore goalie Luke Aaron were given conference honors. Wolf was named ACC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Aaron was named ACC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.

Leading the team, Wolf has a 53 game point streak and a 14 game goal streak. In the game against Notre Dame, Wolf surpassed the 100 goals and 100 assists mark for his career. Wolf’s efforts have made him just the fourth player in school history and just the 14th in conference history to achieve those stats.

Wolf was also named ACC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on March 18th and on February 25th.

Aside from Wolf and Aaron, two other Blue Devils have been awarded as ACC Players of the Week (redshirt senior defenseman Casey Carroll and sophomore midfielder Deemer Class).

The defending national champions have two more regular season games left on their schedule before they head into ACC tournament play. Duke takes on Virginia on April 11 and hosts Rutgers on April 19.
