ACC Football: Duke's Cutcliffe Nabs Coach of the Year Honors

Another week, another batch of good news for the Duke Blue Devils football team, as head coach David Cutcliffe has been named the ACC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year:

It was very well deserved for Cutcliffe, who led Duke to a 10-2 record in the regular season, with plenty to go along with it:

  • ACC Coastal Division title
  • Eight consecutive wins to close out the year
  • Two wins over ranked teams (Virginia Tech, Miami)
  • 27-25 win over rival North Carolina in season finale…in Chapel Hill
  • 6-2 mark in ACC play, with both losses coming without starting quarterback Anthony Boone

He has plenty of time to add to his season’s resume, as well, with the ACC Championship just a few days away, plus a bowl game to follow.

In case you still don’t feel satisfied and want to see Cutcliffe receive more recognition (we can never have enough, right?), there is also this…

I’m not so sure how he’ll fair in that race, as both Malzahn and Pinkel are every bit as deserving with the year their teams have had, but seeing Cutcliffe’s name up there is nothing short of awesome.
