College Football Rankings: Duke No. 20, Florida State No. 1 Heading into Clash

The latest AP Top-25 poll has been released and both the Duke Blue Devils and Florida State Seminoles have plenty to be happy about.

Duke (10-2, 6-2)–coming off a dramatic, 27-25 win over North Carolina in Chapel Hill–bumped up four spots to No. 20, which is the highest the Blue Devils have been ranked since 1994.

Florida State (12-0, 8-0) crushed the Florida Gators in Gainesville, but that was nothing new; their biggest obstacle has always finding a way to get by Alabama in the polls. Thanks to arguably the greatest finish in college football, Auburn beat Alabama and lifted the Seminoles to the No. 1 spot. Florida State received all but 2 of the first place votes.

The two teams will meet in Charlotte, NC for the ACC Championship Game on December 7th. A Duke win would give the Blue Devils their first Orange Bowl birth since 1957. A Florida State win would give the Seminoles their first spot in the National Championship game since 2000.

The game will be televised on ABC at 8:00 pm ET.
