If I’m a freshman in the Atlantic Coast Conference whose name isn’t Jabari Parker, I’m pretty annoyed right now.
For the third consecutive week, Parker thrashed his way through the opposition at will and easily captured ACC Rookie of the Week honors. He tallied 20+ points and 9+ rebounds in all three of Duke’s contests, including a 21-point, 10-rebound, 4-assist effort in just 19 minutes during a 91-55 victory over UNC Asheville.
Over the course of the week, the freshman averaged 22.7 points, 2.3 assists, 2.7 blocks, and 9.3 rebounds. Overall, he has been every bit as outstanding, as his season averages stand at 23.0 points, 2.2 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 8.8 rebounds. He also holds a 37.4 PER, which is second to only KJ McDaniels of Clemson in the ACC.
Parker and his fellow Blue Devils (5-1) return to action on November 27th against the Alabama Crimson Tide. The contest is scheduled to tip-off at 9:30pm (ET)
