Jahlil Okafor and Tyus Jones have committed to Duke, immediately upgrading Duke’s 2014 class from disappointing to the best recruiting haul in the entire nation.
Jones, a five-star point guard from Apple Valley, Minnesota, is expected to immediately step in and be an elite point guard for Duke. Jones is widely regarded as a top-five prospect amongst recruiting sites. He stands at 6’1″ and weighs 171 lbs. From Rivals’ Eric Bossi:
Jones is a heady floor general and a tough competitor. He runs the show and is in total control of what is happening while he has the ball. He doesn’t make a lot of mistakes and shoots with accuracy. Jones isn’t the biggest or most explosive athlete but he has great body control and balance.
Okafor, a five-star center from Chicago, Illinois, is widely considered to be the best player in the nation, and has the potential to be an immediate game-changer for a Duke team that is in serious need of an elite presence in the paint.
