Reid Travis, one of the targets of Duke’s 2014 recruiting class, will announce which college he’ll be attending next fall on November 8th, according to Darren Wolfson:
Nov. 8 is Reid Travis announcement day. Dad Nate on #Gophers visit: “Very first class. They have a very good desire to be winners.” (con.)

The star power forward holds offers from a mass amount of schools, but barring a drastic turn of events, he will be picking from a list of Duke, Stanford, Gonzaga and Minnesota. Travis, who is from Minneapolis, MN, would have the opportunity to be a hometown hero should he choose Minnesota, but the allure of Stanford and Duke also present intriguing options for the De La Salle High School product. The Gopher fanbase is practically on their hands and knees begging him to stay at home and, as evidenced in the Wolfson tweet, Minnesota is thought highly of by the Travis family, as well.
Travis–the 40th-ranked played in the Rivals 150 and 23rd-ranked player in the ESPN100–lacks size for the power forward position at 6’7″, but his elite strength and physicality allow him to succeed against taller defenders. He is still developing, there are concerns about how he’ll perform on defense, so I’m not entirely sure how strong of an impact he could have immediately, but Travis could be a wonderful (and lengthful) pick-up for whichever college he picks in the age of the one-and-done prospects.
