One of the top dual threat quarterbacks in the country committed to Duke this afternoon according to Adam Rowe of Blue Devil Lair (@bluedevillair).
The Miami product shows off a fantastic display of pocket awareness, arm strength, accuracy, agility, and speed in this highlight tape from his junior year. ESPN currently lists him as the #7 dual threat quarterback and is the highest rated quarterback commit since Sean Renfree in Coach David Cutcliffe’s very first class.
Pierre’s commitment reaffirms the change in offensive philosophy that Duke will take on with Anthony Boone under center. Boone has two years of eligibility remaining, after which it is likely Thomas Sirk, Parker Boehme, and now Pierre will compete for the starting job. At that point, expect Pierre to have four years of eligibility as he will more than likely redshirt his freshman year.
Pierre also had offers from Wisconsin, Kansas State, Nebraska, Clemson, Cincinnati, Louisville, South Florida, and Wake Forest.
