Mike DeCourcy of Sporting News has started position rankings for this upcoming season in College Basketball.
Here are the three positions he’s completed so far.
DeCourcy included Rasheed Sulaimon in his shooting guard rankings. He also included Rodney Hood in his Small Forward rankings.
Here’s what he said about Rodney Hood, who came in at No.3.
“When you watched Hood play at Mississippi State, it sometimes appeared as though he were a perfect player. He was always in the right place at the right time doing the right thing. And that was with Renardo Sidney as his teammate! Imagine what Hood will become playing with guys who are in shape and committed to the game. Hood ranked only fifth in shots per minute at MSU, which suggests he might have been used more judiciously. Don’t expect Mike Krzyzewski to make the same mistake.”
And here is where DeCourcy mentioned Sulaimon, who came in at No.3 as well.
“He will not be the Blue Devils’ most talented player, but with one year as a significant option in their offense he’ll present the best combination of talent, experience and institutional knowledge. At Duke, that generally is a package that adds up to stardom. With Jabari Parker and Rodney Hood up front and the estimable Quinn Cook as his backcourt partner, Sulaimon will be part of an offense that will benefit greatly from the collective ability to attack the lane, and he’ll get lots of open shots as a result. “
You can see that Duke is represented well in his rankings. You can’t help but think Jabari Parker will be high in his power forward rankings when they are released.
Let me know what you think. What are your predictions to what Jabari Parker will rank?
