Theo Pinson is headed to North Carolina

Wesleyan Christian Academy’s Theo Pinson announced he would play for North Carolina during a press conference at the school in High Point, N.C., Wednesday, May 22, 2013. (NELSON KEPLEY/News & Record)

5-star 2014 recruit Theo Pinson has decided to stay with the home school and commit to North Carolina. Pinson chose the Tar Heels over Indiana, Duke, Georgetown and Louisville.

You could tell by my article yesterday, that I was pretty much convinced that Pinson was a lock for Indiana, with Duke being a long shot. But apparently I was dead wrong about his recruitment.

Apparently Pinson and Roy Williams had a conversation last week that “pushed them him over the top.”

Pinson joins an already star-studded North Carolina class that features 2 players ranked in the top-25.

We still have Grayson Allen as our lone 4-star commit.

That goes to show you that recruiting can get pretty crazy. Most of the time, no one really knows where a kid is going, until the words come out of his mouth.

That’s one recruit we can now stop focusing on. Now it’s time to get a commit from other targets.
