Former Duke star and current Cleveland Browns’ quarterback Thaddeus Lewis kept all the good feelings associated with the Blue Devil football program going, tossing a 7-yard touchdown, the first of his young NFL career, to Greg Little with 11:17 left in the 3rd quarter of the Browns’ 24-10 loss at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The third-year pro impressed all game long, completing 22 of 32 passes for 204 yards with one touchdown and an interception. He had his struggles, which is expected against such a talented defense (No 2 against the run, No. 1 against the pass, but the youngster performed admirably all throughout the contest and likely earned himself another roster spot for the 2013 season.
Lewis, who was a four-year starter at quarterback from 2006-2009 for the Blue Devils, became just the seventh Duke quarterback to ever start an NFL game, joining Leo Hart, Al Woodall, Dave Brown, Sonny Jurgensen, Bob Brodhead and Anthony Dilweg.
